The Dreams Continue!

Last night I was dreaming about buying stamps. I couldn't get the lady to print the correct stamps for me...I really wanted the Cream and Brown Liberty Bell stamps and she kept printing the Mr. Clean stamps. (And YES, she was printing them on a really old printer, and on sticky labels that were all haphazard and odd shaped...) Sigh.

Temple Dress!

I'm SOOOO excited to share this with everyone because I think it's a hidden Gem of Utah!

So my mom found this little place called "Heavenly Delights, LDS Apparel" that sells temple dresses. We'd been to the other temple dress store, and thought that we could just grab a quick bite to eat and then make a quick run to this new temple dress store. It was a bit difficult to find...and it looked a little shabby from the outside, and I think we questioned going a few times. But the SECOND we walked in we were ooo-ing and ahhh-ing and DELIGHTED (haha, get it?) with our "Diamond in the rough" find.

So this lovely lady who runs the store is great. She has stay-at-home moms sew her dresses, and she has fantastic material. Everything is soft and shiny and nice looking! (I was going to say hip, but I don't think we want our temple dresses to be hip...) I seriously couldn't decide among 3 dresses. I tried them on over and over. And all of them would have been great! It was so fun to try them on over and over and Mom and Dad patiently watched and weighed the pros and cons with me. Thanks mom and dad!

The dress that I chose didn't have any embroidery or stitching or patterns on it. It's so simple. It's a shiny silky satinish dress with a medium-high waistband that ties in the back. It's just straight down and perfect.

So...the website and the pictures on the website are um. not representative of what the dresses actually look like and are. So don't google it...but if you're ever in UTAH and need a temple dress, let me know and I'll send you over!

Wedding Dreams!

So I've been sick for the past week or so, and it's been so funny/frustrating because I can't sleep--not because I'm sick, but because I keep having dreams about my to-do list for the wedding.

Example #1: I ordered the cake on Monday. On Monday night I kept having dreams about the Cake order. I had originally ordered Almond Poppy for the bottom Layer, and Key Lime for the top. But then I remembered that I have Key Lime Pie as one of the dessert options at the reception. So in my dream everyone was mad at me for having two key limes and for not having the banana nut for the cake. The servers were mad at all the guests for bringing it up, and they were being rude. Here I am in my dream, standing at the buffet line in my dress, asking the servers to just call the cake "Citrus Cake" instead of "Key Lime" so the guests will think it's different and won't be upset.

Haha. I woke up on Tuesday morning determined to call the cake lady and change my order. I have been sick though...so I haven't yet, and every night and every morning it's the first thing on my mind!

Example #2: We ordered our flowers from David's Floral in Bountiful. They told me I could call in and pay for the flowers later, but I haven't yet. Last night I had DREAM AFTER DREAM AFTER DREAM about how I called them today and they told me I was too late and I wouldn't be able to get the perfect flowers from them anymore because I had waited too long to pay for them. I kept telling them that I have been sick and traveling and so busy, and they just said that was too bad, that I'd just have to do without flowers on my wedding.

Haha again! I woke up this morning at 5:45 AM to a massive sinus headache and PANIC that they wouldn't let me buy my flowers.

The best part about these dreams are that I KNOW this would NEVER happen, and I know it's not a big deal. It's mostly just funny to laugh at my own mind and the way it works... Seth asked me one day "Janey, if you had Four Days worth of work and One Month's time to do it in, when would you do it?" and I immediately said "The first four days! Then I don't have to worry about it for the rest of the month!" I think the principle holds true, however, in practice I haven't done that as well for the wedding. Sigh. I'll get it taken care of today though!

On my To-Do List today:
--Call the Cake Lady and change my top layer to Banana Nut.
--Call the Flower Lady and Pay for my Flowers (and add in two extra corsages and boutinieres).

To-Do List this weekend:
--Organize my addresses and make sure I have everyone I need.
--Figure out which Picture "wash" we're going to use for our announcement picture.

*UPDATE: Called the Cake Lady. Changed the Layers. Called the Flower Lady. Paid for Flowers. Yahoo!

The Announcements!

So I kind of wanted to keep this a surprise so when you got your announcement in the mail you'd be shocked and awed and so excited to see something for the FIRST TIME EVER....but I just couldn't wait!!!! Trust me, when you see them in person, you'll still be excited and think they're fantastic. :)

So the thing on the top right is a wrap that will go around the announcement and our picture and the sealing card. It's semi-transparent and we love it!!! Also, I'm in love with the sketch of the bountiful temple. Isn't it so pretty??

I got it I got it!

Monday was our Dress Shopping day! Mom, Mary and her kids were sports to come along (at my request!) to watch me try on pretty wedding dresses at Margene's. I can't tell you how fun it was to have little kiddos ooooooh and ahhhhh every time I came out of the dressing room. Kim, our helper, was the nicest ever and was so great at helping us find exactly what we wanted. The girls also had me try on a tiara with every dress--and they almost sold me on a tiara!!!
The first dress I tried on was the dress of my dreams....and it was just that--DREAMY! I love love love love love love love it.
I tried on some other ones just for fun, including my second choice dress, a mermaid dress, and a way too tight satin gown. In the end...nothing compared to the dress of my dreams, so we went with it! It was so fun to get such a pretty lacey ivory fun pretty amazing great dress. We have this great friend that always says "It was totally worth it to me" and I have to echo that statement. It IS totally worth it to me!

Wedding Cake!

From May 2 to May 8 I got to go home and plan the wedding with Mom and Dad! It was so fun--everything went really smoothly and we found so many great things! I don't know how I'd do all this wedding stuff without family! It was so fun to see everyone, and to have neices and nephews help out with everything and sisters drive us around and share thoughts and opinions on all the fun details, and I loved being able to run here and there with mom and dad--it was just fun!

I don't have much time to post everything at once, so I'll just post when I have a chance. Today on my lunch break time i was doodling and drew my wedding cake. (Note: I am not an artist...haha) When we went to the JSMB to settle all our reception details, our event planner thought I was ridiculous for only wanting a 6'' cake. I was just sure that's what I wanted, and then we went to Barbara "The Cake Lady"....

Barbara brought out samples of her cake...and I was nervous to try until i took the first bite! I'm just gunna say that you ALL are going to want to come to the reception just for the wedding cake! It's moist, it's fresh, and it tastes GREAT! She has really unique flavors, too. I was dying over the Banana Nut and the Almond Poppyseed, but to add variety we decided to do the Almond Poppyseed on the bottom layer and the Key Lime on the top layer.

Bonus: she has edible pearls, so i get to have pearls all over my cake! All the little designs are pearls and frosting, won't that be pretty??

Drawing:

Another Bonus--no Fondant! Barbara can also do a really thin Marzipan layer (kind of an almondy frosting) that looks great and tastes great too! It's kind of a cream color (another bonus) so it's perfect with our colors!

To top it all off--the cake feeds so many people! We're having a cake bar for our refreshments, so we'll just add the wedding cake to it and everyone can have a piece! Yay!!!
